Sports & Research centre underway
Work has now begun on a new sports and research centre for
Northumbria University at the university’s Newcastle-upon-Tyne campus. The £22 million
project will create an 11,000 m2 building comprising offices and laboratories, a 6 lane swimming pool, sports hall, squash courts,
fitness suite, indoor track, communal areas and teaching space.

Office Principles are expanding their specialist joinery company,
Paragon Design, and have now received planning approval for the construction of new
premises at 12 Arkwright Road, Reading, Berkshire. The new building will comprise a
steel framed unit with 577m2 of workshop and industrial space and 216m2
of office space above. Works include additional parking and landscaping.

King's Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council is inviting
expressions of interest from contractors for the resurfacing of the Baker Lane Car Park,
King's Lynn. The total area to be resurfaced is approximately 3,250m2 and works will
include replacing of tree grids and lineage. Closing date to register: 29th August.

May Gurney has begun work on the construction of a
new £1.2 million headquarters building for the Morley Agricultural Foundation
at Morley in Norfolk. The single-storey office building will include
its own conference facility and meeting rooms. Work on the 9 month
project began at the end of April and includes enabling and
groundworks, new vehicle access, parking and landscaping.

London 2012: Contract awarded for temp highways, footpaths and parking
Civil contractor, Fitzpatrick, have won the contract
for the design and construction of temporary highways, footpaths, parking areas,
and a temporary drainage management system for the London Olympic
site at Lower Lea Valley, East London.

have begun work on a new £7 million health and community facility
at Fauldhouse, West Lothian. The new centre will house two GP practices, dental surgery, swimming pool, offices,

to refurbish and fit-out 3 tower buildings for the University of Derby.

Work on the project at London Road, Norbury,

The University of Leeds is inviting tenders from main
contractors for a 3,195m2 extension of an existing leisure centre plus a 300k
refurbishment programme for existing changing and shower areas. Tenders are due to
be returned by the 20th August with work expected to begin towards the end of this year.
The addition will create an 8 lane swimming pool, wet and dry changing facilities,
squash courts, climbing wall, health suite, sauna and steam rooms, offices,
new reception area, cafe and spectating facilities.
